Multi-week wellness programs are designed to motivate your employees to make gradual change over time. The series includes educational classes, materials, healthy competition and motivation to make healthy changes.
- 8-Week Team Weight Management Competition
This weight-management program is a fun challenge among teams of employees. Groups of three employees participate in biweekly weigh-ins and educational classes. Educational materials guide participants along this health journey.
- Weighting for the Holidays
The holidays are a tough time to maintain or lose weight, so the Byrnes Health Education Center offers a weight-management series beginning the week before Thanksgiving and ending after New Year's Day. Educational classes and materials provided.
- 5- or 10-Week Nutrition Series
A consecutive five- or ten-class series to educate, inspire, and challenge participants on their nutrition habits, physical activity, and overall well-being. Classes involve interactive lectures, activities, creative props for visual illustration of objectives, and group discussions.
- 8 Week Activity Program
Employees are encouraged to walk or participate in other physical activity while tracking their progress with a pedometer or by minutes of activity. Educational materials and interactive classes are provided to educate and inspire employees to get moving!
Interactive Wellness Sessions are classes led by an educator on a specific health topic. Available in lively half-hour or one-hour formats, they include props, activities, and discussion for an integrated learning approach.

Participants identify what motivates them to care for their body and discover how to set and achieve personal wellness goals. A great kick-off to a new wellness program, students will create a solid foundation for successful change.

Learn to identify your personal risks for heart disease and stroke. Enthusiastic educators will share tips for a heart-healthy diet and help participants understand ways to control high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

What is diabetes? What are the symptoms of the disease? This course will teach strategies to manage diabetes and how to avoid getting Type II diabetes.
- Medical Consumerism and Self-Care — Navigating the Medical Maze
Become your own health advocate and make better health care decisions. Learn what questions to ask to effectively navigate the health care system. Don't be deceived—using the Internet to research reliable health information.
- Men's Health Issues — Under the Hood
During this class, men will learn tips for reducing their risk of chronic diseases and depression, identify traditional and new risk factors for heart disease and review health screening recommendations.

Laughter is a great medicine! Participants will identify the benefits of laughter for the mind and body, then will learn how to use laughter in everyday situations and go through the day with a smile.
- Women's Health Issues — It's a Women's World
Receive tips for preventing and managing osteoporosis, heart disease and cancer. Learn about the pros/cons of hormone-replacement therapy and natural remedies. Female participants will leave this class with knowledge for overall mental and social health.

This class takes a more in-depth look at menopause including the different types of menopause, signs and symptoms, hormone-replacement options and when you should seek medical advice.
- Fitness Fundamentals — The Fitness Factor
Explains how individuals and families can incorporate activity and exercise into everyday routines. Educators share tips for staying motivated and creating fitness goals that lead to results. Hands-on practice of light strength training and stretching included in class.
- Cardiovascular Fitness Fundamentals — Jump-Start Your Heart
Identify the importance and benefits of cardiovascular exercise to maintain a healthy heart. Participants will learn how to incorporate cardio into everyday live, calculate target heart rate and overcome a plateau in their cardio workout.
