Byrnes Health Education continues to grow as a leading resource of innovative, high-quality,  effective health education.  To date, over 7 million children and adults have discovered the  wonders of life through our dynamic health education programs who are inspired daily to take charge of their health!

## Dynamic Learning Labs

A visit to Byrnes Health Education is an exciting and educational multimedia experience! Innovative programs are led by exceptionally qualified health educators and are enhanced by amazing, interactive exhibits. All programs and exhibits meet many National and State Education Standards and have been designed in conjunction with local school representatives to enhance classroom curriculum.

Health education programs are taught in six high-tech learning labs located in York, PA. Each learning lab highlights an important area of health and is named for the topic of emphasis: Substance Abuse Prevention, General Health, Nutrition & Fitness, Human Development, Body Shop for Early Learners, and the Social Emotional learning lab. 

Visitors come from across Central PA and Northern MD to participate in one of over 40 program offerings on topics such as nutrition, mental health awareness, stress reduction, substance abuse prevention, dental health, puberty, the five senses, character education, anatomy, safety, and fitness, just to name a few!

## On-Site

To reach additional students and to further the message of healthy lifestyles, we provide outreach programs that are delivered directly in school classrooms and organizations. Onsite classes (Outreach) include a learning session on a particular health topic and hands-on activities. 

## Webcasting

For those schools and organizations that are located out of our service area, we offer Webcasting as an option to access health curriculum.  Live Webcasting allows us to “visit”  any classroom, no matter where it is located. With Webcasting, we are able to present to students in one of our learning labs in real time, allowing students to interact with our educator while learning about important health subjects. This unique education experience includes props, activities and more to make it a program students will not only never forget, but also learn from!

As the Elementary Supervisor at South Western School District, it is a pleasure to work with the Byrnes Health Education Center!  Our students in grades K-5 have experienced classroom lessons each year that encourage student participation, and are stimulating and engaging.  The Byrnes Health Education Center has positively impacted our learners by making them aware of the importance of living a healthy life – emotionally and physically.
